This faculty review, refresher, and Q&A connects UNC Teaching Effectiveness expectations with practical strategies you can use now. We will review the Teaching Effectiveness Assessment Framework and discuss meaningful peer observation, self-assessment, student feedback, and evidence of effective instruction across face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.
We will consider questions such as: How do you know students are engaged? What evidence demonstrates effective instruction? What should a useful peer observation look like? How can feedback help strengthen your course while the semester is still underway?
With Student Instruction Evaluations approaching, this is an opportunity to use feedback formatively—while there is still time to make meaningful adjustments that can benefit your current students.
